Stage Combat Workshops

Safe and affordable tuition for both professionals and amateurs alike. Workshops can be tailor-made to your exact needs. From a 2 hour class to a 20 week certification course, SWORDPLAY will help you explore all aspects of stage combat. Perfect for stage schools, secondary schools, universities, theatre companies and individual actors.

Theatrical Performances & Historical Interpretations

SWORDPLAY currently provides historical interpretations for National museums and heritage sides around the country. We have performed at schools and tourist attractions for over five years, aiming to combine historical accuracy with an entertaining and moving experience.

Fight Demonstrations

Breathtaking displays of Combat. Choose from Medieval Knights, Viking Warriors, Georgian Swordmasters and many, many more. All periods and weapons systems are possible.

Have A Go Sword

Designed for younger children and teenagers, Have a Go Sword offers an opportunity to learn the basics of stage combat through a safe but exciting Medieval routine using wooden swords.

Choreography/ Film Consultancy

SWORDPLAY can provide customised choreography for any production containing combat scenes. We can co-ordinate training for 2 to 500 performers, provide equipment and weaponry, and extras for mass battles. SWORDPLAY also provides a range of consultants for all aspect of staged violence in film, television and theatre scenarios .

Professional theatrical weapons and armour can be rented at exceptional rates. We stock wooden weapons for younger performers and firearms for modern productions. Rentals are subject to availability, and it is strognly suggested that enquiries are made far in advance of the production.
